TXOne Networks this week announced a new security appliance designed to help small and mid-sized manufacturers protect their operational technology (OT) networks against cyber threats.
The new device, called EdgeIPS Pro 216, is compact and it can be deployed in an IT cabinet or rack.
The product, billed as ideal for harsh environments, leverages one-time deep packet inspection technology and provides IPS-based network segmentation with ICS/OT protocol filtering. Other capabilities include virtual patching and anti-virus scanning.
“By deeply analyzing network traffic from levels 2 to 7 and enabling interoperability between master nodes, EdgeIPS Pro 216 provides attack intelligence, event logs, early attack detection, and command filtering. control based on the trusted list,” said TXOne.
The device has eight sets of docking ports, providing 2Gbps bandwidth and supporting a variety of industrial protocols.
EdgeIPS Pro 216 is expected to be available worldwide in July.
TXOne Networks is a joint venture between cybersecurity company Trend Micro and industrial networking solutions provider Moxa. The new company was announced in November 2018 and unveiled its first product, IPS, in April 2019.
