In New Yorkers, we strive to make magazines a great reading experience, whether you’re at the beach, in bed, or passing the newsstand. Today, we’re excited to introduce our new Android app — a way for more people to enjoy our publications, at home and on the go.
The New Yorker app is now available for download on Android, giving subscribers an enhanced way to take in the magazine’s signature blend of in-depth reporting, commentary, criticism, and humour. Readers can explore articles from our Top Stories feed, review any issue published since 2008, and share favorite articles with friends. Can’t finish an article in one sitting? The application will save your location. The Android app also highlights cultural events from the magazine’s Goings On About Town section and allows users to add concerts, dance performances, etc. to their calendar. All told, apps are the best way for Android readers to stick to what New Yorkers writers are talking about the world. Additional features will be released in the coming months.
The New Yorker app, also available for iOS users, is one of many perks for subscribers. Another program is The New Yorker Live Spring Series, a trilogy of digital events with New Yorkers writers and special guests, will take place next week. Two of the discussions will examine the crises of the moment – Russia’s war with Ukraine and the fight against voter suppression in the US – while the third offers a humorous shot. with comedians Nick Kroll and Aidy Bryant. The audience can ask questions at the end of these sessions and during the lengthy Q&A session in the Ukraine discussion.
