The business officially opened in late March 2022 and recently became a member of the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. However, owner Erin Winfree – who is originally from Waco, Texas and has lived in Sidney for a year – has been repairing and building his own computers and systems for over 10 years and has a passion for machines. computing and technology. since he was a kid.
“I have always enjoyed working with computers and other technologies. It seemed like a natural progression to turn something I love into my livelihood,” says Winfree. “Over the years, my wife has encouraged me to work in computer repair or IT because I love doing it. However, it wasn’t until I worked with a computer repair company for a short time that I realized what percentage of the market was out there. “
Currently, Winfree runs his home-based business and his wife, Ellen, helps with the day-to-day operations. Winfree is currently focusing on residential and small business customers within 15 miles of Sidney to make the business known in the area. Some technology problems can also be fixed remotely, and Winfree can help no matter the distance. As the business gets bigger, a brick-and-mortar store will likely take over.
“It would be great to eventually move into a brick-and-mortar store,” says Winfree. “Our current business plan is to keep our overall costs low while building a stable customer base. Once we have that, we hope to be able to bear the costs associated with the storefront. “
Winfree will be able to keep customers coming back with its great customer service practices and skill sets.
“I really want to focus on treating my customers how I want to be treated. That means upfront and honest about my pricing structure and the most accurate estimate of how long it will take,” Winfree said. “Honestly, I am always open to a variety of services.
