Job description
We are looking for a Research Engineer who will be responsible for doing research and practical implementation in a federated and machine/deep learning rule mining model that can be applied to dealing with cybersecurity . Candidates must be able to work in a team and must assist the team in implementing strategies. Applicants must have programming skills and must be prepared to adapt the project’s needs towards the realization of Proof of Concept (PoC).
Responsibility:
- Conduct a thorough search of State documents and prepare a survey document;
- Participating in and supporting data procurement, setting up network infrastructure (test beds) to perform experiments;
- Identify security related attacks for tests using the data obtained
- Support the research team in implementing adaptive algorithms and strategies using ARM and ML/DL models for automatic rule generation and mining on network traffic flow data;
- Understand and develop application related use cases, implementing them as a proof of concept;
- Engage in work towards filing a patent application
- Performance evaluations/simulations must be carried out as needed for research works;
- Contribute to knowledge exchanges with external partners and collaborators;
Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer/Electrical Engineering, with expertise/experience related to machine/deep learning and cybersecurity;
- Proven record of programming skills, especially in Python and related packages;
- Must support data collection, pre-processing, and test network setup for tests
- Must be prepared to learn and adapt to any new technical knowledge (other programming skills, networking related aspects, etc.)
- Prior experience in network security and ML/DL, network traffic stream data processing, information extraction, would be an asset;
- Must be prepared to assist the team in implementing the strategies
- Excellent verbal presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Open for fixed term contract
