October is designated as National Cybersecurity Awareness month. This is to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online, while increasing the nation’s resilience to cyber threats.
In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness month, Mississippi State ITS will be hosting two Cybersecurity presentations.
—FBI Ransomware Brief: An FBI agent will discuss the ongoing ransomware cybercrime threat. This is a live presentation scheduled for 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday [Oct. 24] in the Grisham Room of the Mitchell Memorial Library.
—Security on Campus: Tom Ritter, Senior Security and Compliance Officer, ITS will discuss in detail the security initiatives underway at MSU. This is a live and virtual event scheduled for 1-2pm on Thursday [Oct. 27] at the Colvard Student Union Fowlkes Auditorium. Go to msstate.webex.com/meet/thr1 to join the meeting online.
