Microsoft is testing a handy Game Pass utility on Windows 11

Microsoft’s first new Windows 11 utility will make it easier for you to find out what games are coming to PC Game Pass. The add-on is currently only available to Windows Insider testers, and is said to provide a “window” into the service’s game library, allowing you to check out recent additions and updates. game coming out.

Microsoft currently has a rather limited selection of widgets in Windows 11, but a Game Pass widget shows that Microsoft is trying other apps (not too boring like weather, calendar, and news). Windows 11 is supposed to eventually support third-party widgets, but adding Game Pass could be a good way to shake up the widgets panel right now and could even help promote the subscription service.

In addition to letting you see what games are coming and going, the new Game Pass widget displays games in certain categories and provides a gateway to the Xbox app. Microsoft says it’s also working on adding other features to the widget, including personalized recommendations and a way for you to sign in to your Xbox account and launch a recently played game.

If you’re a Windows 11 tester, you can add the Game Pass extension by opening the utilities panel on your PC and clicking the “plus” icon next to your user profile. From there, tap the “plus sign” icon next to Game Pass and the widget will show up on your board.
