Canon looks to set a standard in both quality and quantity at IBC with a series of new announcements including 5 camcorders, extended rear panel, 27″ reference monitor, 8K-capable Servo Cine lens, some firmware updates and new PTZ cameras.

Vixia HF-G70
This is a 1/2.3″ sensor camera with no top handle capable of recording UHD up to 30p and FHD up to 60p. The machine has a fixed 20x optical zoom path, Canon’s hybrid AF system, 2 SD card slots and only records at Rec 709.
XA60/XA65
These cameras also shoot 4K UHD up to 30fps and FHD up to 60p with 20x optical zoom. But they do include a top handle with 2 XLR inputs, a built-in stereo microphone, and a 1/8” audio input. As in all Canon cameras in this line of fixed zoom lenses, any model number ending in 5 has an XLR. It also only records at Rec 709.
XA70/XA75
These cameras raise the ante sensor by 1” adding dual-pixel autofocus, Canon Log3 and Wide DR shooting modes.
The Vixia HF-G70 will sell for $1,249 while the XA60 and XA65 are priced at $1,799 and $2,299, all of which will ship in October 2022. The XA70 has a list price of $2499 with the XA75 at $2999. la. They will ship in November.

Servo 15-120 goes beyond the data extension of the Cooke-I protocol by adding Zeiss/I protocols.

CR-N700 4K . PTZ Camera
This fixed-lens 15x optical or 30x HD electronic zoom camera supports 4K-60p up to 4:2:2 10-bit with 12G-SDI output for 4K surveillance. Users can download the LUT and it supports both HLG and PQ HDR variants. Output support includes SRT, Free-D and includes NDI|HX license.
Canon positions this PTZ camera as a mid-range to high-end offering.
It includes an IR remote and also works with WiFi enabled tablets to provide full control. This app allows to control up to 20 cameras. The optional RC-IP100 Remote Camera Controller is a dedicated PTZ controller that features joystick and zoom control and can connect up to 100 remote cameras. Dual-pixel capability and eye-detection autofocus for fast and accurate focusing.
Target applications for the CR-N700 are concerts, events, or anywhere where 4K is required.
