Cybersecurity threats are the biggest threat to National Security and building cyber hygiene is critical, National Cybersecurity Coordinator Rajesh Pant said on Thursday, June 23. 2022.
While speaking at the DX Secure Summit, Mr. Pant called for increased cybersecurity awareness in the country.
“Threats to cybersecurity are one of the biggest risks to National Security, and awareness and building of cyber hygiene followed by audits is crucial,” said Mr. Pant.
Ashutosh Chadha, team head and head of government affairs at Microsoft India said that cybercrime costs economies more than $6 trillion a year and is expected to grow to 10. trillion dollars by 2025, according to Cybersecurity Ventures.
“This signals across the industry that every company needs to create a culture of security,” said Mr. Chadha.
CII Digital Transformation Center President and NIIT Vice President and MD Vijay Thadani said artificial intelligence solutions can be used as the best mitigations for cyber and Indian threats should focus on becoming a solution provider for network security.
“Cybersecurity is not just about risk management, but also a strategic issue that shapes product capabilities, organizational performance and customer relationships,” said Thadani.
