Featuring a 20.1MP sensor, the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark III doesn’t appear to have any upgrades in the megapixel department. However, as reported by (opens in a new tab) Canon Watch rumor site, processor has been updated from Mark II’s DIGIC 7 processor to DIGIC 8.
Apparently, the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark III will also have 4x zoom capability, which is an improvement over the Mark II’s 3x zoom. The G9 X Mark III will also be able to record 4K video at 30p and Full HD video at 120p.
Canon Watch notes that it looks like the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark III will have essentially the same specs as the PowerShot G7 X Mark III, released in August 2019, but with a slower lens. The G7 X Mark III has an f/1.8 – f/2.8 lens, but it’s not immediately clear what the G9 X Mark III will have (though we can assume it will be the same as the Mark II, which is f/2. – f / 4.9).
All of these specs sound interesting, but we’ll have to wait until the PowerShot G9 X Mark III is officially announced for more information.
