    This is sure to affect some professional and novice photographers and videographers alike as Canon is considered one of the top brands offering budget-friendly photography gear.

    Along with Nikon and Sony, Canon enables many artists to make a living out of their passion. However, before they can do this, they need to purchase various DSLR cameras (Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras) and mount lenses before they can start generating revenue.

    Now, it looks like many consumers will be disappointed that the giant camera developer and manufacturer decided to raise the prices of some of their most requested photography products.

    Canon’s Price Attack of 2021: Which Products Are Affected?

    According to the latest report by Digital Camera World, multiple leaked sources confirm that Canon has increased the cost of some of its popular devices. These include the Canon 5D Mark IV, a popular DLSR currently priced at $2,699. This is a huge change in price because the difference from the original price is $200.

    Besides this DLSR model, the tech giant also makes its RF mount more expensive. Most of them now cost an extra $100. On the other hand, the conventional digital cam was also affected by the most recent price rally.

    These include the Canon PowerShot SX620. It was originally priced at just $299, allowing more consumers to buy it as it was quite cheap. But now, people need to pay $20 more because its latest price is $20.

    Some reviewers explained that while the $20 price tag isn’t alarming, the difference in percentages is the same in the new prices of the Canon 5D Mark IV and the PowerShot SX620.

    In other news, Samsung Galaxy S22’s advanced camera sensor and other features are expected to outperform the new iPhone 13. On the other hand, Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to be a camera smartphone the first has a 200MP main camera sensor.

    How can you save money?

    Canon’s 2021 price hikes are common, especially as many companies are still affected by the ongoing pandemic. However, there are still a few ways you can count on to cut costs on your favorite Canon products.

    However, Digital Photography School explains that you may need to avoid buying a brand new DSLR or basic digital camera models if you want to pay less:

    • Try purchasing Canon products from third-party sellers.
    • Check refurbished or used Canon cameras and lenses.
    • Learn about Canon’s camera product cycle for yourself.
    • You can also wait for sales, especially as the Christmas season approaches.
