Apple’s Peek Performance iPhone event: rumors, news and announcements

If the seasons start to change, it must be time for another Apple event. Of course, it’s not the fall when a new generation of iPhones arrives that will disappoint us, but there could be some surprises in store.

Apple recently sent out invites for its “Peek Performance” event, scheduled for Tuesday, March 8 at 1PM ET / 10AM PT. Although internet regulators have tried to discern any hidden meanings embedded in the invitation image or the use of the word “peek”, it is certain that one of the announcements for the event will be a iterative update of the budget-friendly iPhone SE, now with 5G compatibility. On the iPad front, we can see an updated iPad Air to replace the 2020 model with a refreshed design – now with 5G as well.

Other than that, things get a little more murky. There have been rumors of a new, more premium Mac Mini for a while. While the current M1 Mac Mini is still a formidable little machine, no one will say no to more power. But will it be upgraded to the M1 Pro CPUs currently on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, or is it time to launch the M2 processors?

It’s just the hardware. There is bound to be some software that introduces new features and is perhaps a bit annoying about privacy.

Whatever is published, you can count on The Verge See, live blogging and all-inclusive news right here as new products and features are announced.
