At the launch of the iPhone 13, there were rumors that the new smartphone models would be able to send text messages and make calls via satellite services when other connections were unavailable.
The idea came from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF international securities company based in Taiwan, including the possibility that Apple (stock code: AAPL) could partner with
Globalstar
(GSAT) on the service. As it happens, Apple has not announced any satellite connectivity agreement, with Globalstar or anyone else, for the iPhone 13.
